Hidden Faces of Pride of in our Lives

For many of us, this is an area in our character that God is eradicating. The spirit of pride is the master nature of Satan. Many of us have received wonderful words from the Lord, but it seems that  cleansing from this carefully veiled sin, maybe the determining factor in functioning at the pinnacle of our anointed  potential. When it comes to pride, others can see it in us before we see it.When the Holy Spirit exposes pride in our hearts, spiritual maturity is exemplified when we quickly repent from the heart and manifest the repentance by correcting the situation or relationship. Embracing the revelation of  the cross of Jesus Christ is our exit point from pride.  I am going to provide a short list of some of the manifestations of pride.

  1. Insecurity
  2. Stubbornness is the master twin of pride. Stubbornness is present when we make an idol of our opinion.
  3. The areas of our lives where we are unteachable are the areas of our lives where the spirit of pride is working
  4. Where ever there is rejection, self -rejection or fear of rejection, pride is the coping mechanism used by our flesh to deal with the different modes of rejection
  5. Critical heart or mouth
  6. Contention ( fights and arguments)
  7. Pride never hears the leading of the Holy Spirit in anyone else in equal degrees than their own personal hearing.
  8. Prayerlessness  means I depend on myself and not on God.
  9. People who don't find joy in praising and worshiping God, find their greatest joy in receiving praise from man. Praising God decentralizes self.
  10. Pride presumes, always assumes and usurps positions of authority presumptuously
  11. Cannot receive correction
  12. Secretly feeds on the accolades and praise from man- takes God's glory in self- unperceived degrees
  13. Pride never allows  a person within whom it works to perceive it
  14. Pride is the primary cause of all divisions, dissensions, separations among leaders and key relationships (i.e. marriage)
  15. Pride is the spirit behind all disguise, deceptions and deceit
  16. Pride will always fulfill James 3:13-16 - For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil work.
  17. Pride in the position of authority, leads by domination
  18. Pride cannot graciously be disagreed with or challenged
  19. Pride can see the faults in others but cannot see the beams in their own eyes- every man is right in his own eyes
  20. In all conflict you act, react or retaliate because in your own eyes you are correct
  21. Pride will not let you know true submission in rest and trust
  22. Prides cause you to create fear in others so it will not be exposed or offended
  23. Pride will not allow one to be teachable when challenged, disagreed with or corrected
  24. Or pride will allow you to be corrected easy, but will cause one to find a reason to retaliate and counter charge
  25. Pride only allows one  to receive graciously those who feed its nature. The people who feed the pride nature are the ones who receives the greatest favor.
  26. Pride will cause one to always have to the last say and the most to say
  27. Self pity is close alliance with pride. Wherever self pity lurks in our heart, pride is in full operation
  28. Pride operates in wise deceit by manipulating and controlling others
  29. Prides causes one to place priority on being right above healing the relationship
  30. Pride is the primary reason for us not be apologizing, admitting we are wrong and for most un-forgiveness
  31. Pride hinders us from seeing things from the other person's perspective
  32.  The dark spirit of pride is attracted to the  unhealed wounded heart. Pride keeps us from seeking help from the right people when we are wounded. A wounded heart does not mean you are weak, it means you were wounded in battle. Needing help from another believer does not mean we are weak. Seek help when you need assistance in your journey with God means you are wise.
